Welcome, my name is Olivia Adams and I am a pianist, teacher, and researcher in Ottawa, ON.

I am invested in creating inclusive music spaces for students and promoting the music of women

through education, performance, and research.

Olivia Adams – Pianist, Educator, Researcher

Olivia Adams (she/her) is a dedicated pianist and music educator with nearly a decade of teaching experience in both private and group settings. She holds an MA (Music and Feminist Studies), a BMus (Piano Performance), a Piano Pedagogy Certificate from the Royal Conservatory of Music, and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Music and Education at the University of Ottawa. Her students excel in private lessons, festivals, and examinations including winning gold medals for top marks in the province. Olivia is certified through the Canadian Federated Music Teachers Association and the Ontario Registered Music Teachers.

Olivia runs a piano studio with students of all ages. Her teaching approach is tailored to each student through the use of inclusive pedagogy, mindfulness, and justice-oriented music resources. Technique, musicianship, repertoire, improvisation, and theory are all incorporated into music lessons. Students are encouraged to explore a variety of genres including classical, jazz, holiday, pop, movie music, and their own compositions!
